Summary
The Kiln Youth Center is a free venue, committed to establishing a safe, supportive environment for young members of the community to come together, build connections, and access valuable resources. This role organizes programs at The Kiln. Core programs include health and wellness, recreation/drop-in activities, future preparedness, recovery services, and academics. The bulk of program delivery and coordination happens on-site at RiseUp Partnership.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Partnerships
Provide overall leadership and coordination of both afterschool and summer programming at The Kiln, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and youth development outcomes.
Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all participants, modeling positive youth development practices.
Supervise and support adult and peer mentors, volunteers, and AmeriCorps Fellows to ensure consistent, high-quality engagement with youth.
Recruit, onboard, and retain mentors and volunteers, including oversight of background checks and training.
Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local leaders to expand opportunities for youth.
Program Management
Plan, implement, and oversee afterschool and summer programming for youth in grades 5–12.
Ensure programming reflects best practices in youth development, mentoring, and social-emotional learning.
Coordinate schedules, activities, and logistics (including transportation and supervision) to ensure smooth program operations.
Provide orientation, guidance, and ongoing support to adult and peer mentors, volunteers, and AmeriCorps Fellows.
Collaborate with internal staff, including the Parent Engagement Coordinator and Marketing team, to strengthen family connections and program visibility.
Track participation, maintain program records, and support evaluation and reporting efforts.
Report programming status and updates to the Director of Programs monthly.
Must align work hours/days with program hours and days:
Afterschool: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (program is 3 - 7 p.m.)
Required hours:
2 - 7 p.m. one day
2 - 5 p.m. two days
Summer: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (program is 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Required hours:
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. one day
9 a.m. - 12 p.m. two days
The rest of the hours are flexible.
Administrative & Organizational Support
Maintain accurate youth documentation, including case notes, assessments, intake, and outcome data, ensuring compliance with program requirements.
Monitor program expenses in alignment with budget expectations.
Support fundraising and community events through coordination of youth participation.
Complete a minimum of 20 hours of professional development annually.
Perform other duties as assigned to support program success.

Summary
The In-School Program Coordinator will oversee RiseUp Partnership’s programming within a school in Goodhue County, supporting youth through prevention, intervention, and enrichment initiatives. This position manages referrals, connects youth to adult mentors, facilitates group programs such as Rising Together, partners with school and community organizations, tracks program outcomes, and ensures youth and families are connected to resources. The role requires strong organizational skills, experience in youth development, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a school-based setting.

Leadership
Develop and coordinate the “in-school program” in collaboration with schools, coworkers, community partners, and the Director of Programs by attending staff, committee, and partner meetings, researching best and promising practices, and identifying community gaps and needs.
Assist in coordinating the “summer program” with the Summer Program Coordinator.
Work with schools, coworkers, and the Director of Programs to ensure program outcomes align with school, agency, and program goals.

Leadership and Coordination
Coordinate youth leadership and civic engagement opportunities across Goodhue County, in alignment with community priorities and partnership goals by:
Connecting and aligning Community Youth Council (CYC), Youth on Boards (YOB), and out-of-school time (OST) initiatives with broader countywide efforts through the Partnership of Children, Youth, and Families of Goodhue County.
Building and maintaining relationships with schools, community organizations, and public partners to expand youth leadership pathways.
Promoting youth leadership opportunities through school and community channels to increase awareness and engagement.
Supervise and support the AmeriCorps Fellow focused on youth engagement.
Lead and facilitate the weekly CYC, including recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support of youth leaders representing communities across Goodhue County.
Recruit and retain an active group of approximately 12–20 youth participants in the CYC annually, with representation from across Goodhue County through intentional outreach and engagement.
Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and youth activities.
Support youth in developing and implementing 3-5 youth-led projects, initiatives, and community solutions annually.
Prepare regular reports and updates on youth leadership efforts and impact (monthly and quarterly).

Children & Youth Programming Coordinator
RiseUp Partnership – Promise Advocacy Cohort (PAC)
Overview
In fall 2025, RiseUp Partnership will launch its second Promise Advocacy Cohort (PAC 2) for parents, caregivers, and neighbors to learn together and act on opportunities for community change grounded in lived experience.
Role Purpose
To support whole-family participation, RiseUp Partnership will provide on-site childcare and youth programming for children and youth who attend with their parents/caregivers. We seek a dynamic individual to serve as the Children & Youth Programming Coordinator during PAC 2. This individual will organize programming and oversee volunteers.

Session coverage (set-up, program, clean-up): approximately 4:30–7:30 p.m. per session (about 4 hours each) × 6 sessions ≈ 24 hours total. Session dates include:

Key Responsibilities
Design age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans aligned to the ages of registered children and youth.
Establish clear behavior, safety, and participation expectations; share these with families during PAC orientation/introductions.
Create a supply list for planned crafts and activities (RiseUp Partnership purchases all supplies).
Set up the children/youth space before each session and restore the space afterward.
Take attendance; ensure name tags and RiseUp stickers are used for easy identification.
Lead crafts, games, literacy/SEL activities, and movement breaks during each session.
Adapt plans to meet participants’ needs, interests, and abilities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers: review code of conduct, give a PAC overview, outline tasks, and introduce volunteers to parent/caregiver participants.
Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and monitor participant well-being throughout.
Provide a brief written summary of children/youth programming after PAC concludes (what worked, improvements, supply notes).
